Who is Attorney Nicholas Kennedy?

Nicholas Kennedy is highly selective of the clients he represents to ensure each receives the personalized attention and zealous advocacy they deserve. Attorney Kennedy understands that each client’s needs are unique, and he provides a range of services, from client counseling to trial advocacy, to help his clients achieve their goals. 

Attorney Kennedy has litigated in federal and state courts, before administrative agencies, and in arbitrations. He has successfully resolved disputes under a litany of federal statutes, including Title VII, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, and FLSA, as well as state statutory and common law claims. Attorney Kennedy also advises employees on issues surrounding non-compete agreements, severance packages, and unemployment compensation. 

In law school, Attorney Kennedy was selected to join the University of Pittsburgh Law Review and The Order of the Coif, an honorary society for law students in the top 10% of their graduating class. Since law school, Attorney Kennedy has dedicated himself to honing his skill set and regularly presents on emerging issues in employment law for organizations such as the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) and Pennsylvania Association for Justice (PAJ). Additionally, Attorney Kennedy received a scholarship to and completed the National Trial Academy College at the University of Virginia, where he received mentorship and guidance from the federal judiciary.  

In his professional community, Attorney Kennedy currently serves as Vice President of the ACBA’s Labor and Employment Law Section, Chair of the PAJ’s Employment Law Section, and Vice President of the local affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), an organization whose mission is “to empower workers’ rights attorneys through legal training, promoting a fair judiciary, and advocating for laws and policies that level the playing field for workers.”

Giving back to his community is important to Attorney Kennedy. He currently serves as the President of Neighborhood Legal Services’ Board of Directors and as the Co-Chair of the ACBA’s Community Service Committee, as well as providing pro bono legal services to individuals in need.
